It is very popular in Unnan City, and, to this day, it is performed in local festivals and rituals. Various acts in the repertoire are inspired by Izumo mythology; the most popular act is inspired by the story of Susanoo-no-Mikoto defeating the serpent Yamata-no-Orochi that is said to have eight heads and tails.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"c-row__col c-row__col--1-1 c-row__col--lg-1-2\"><div class=\"smb-media-text__figure\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/unnan-tatara.jp\/images\/sites\/2\/2021\/01\/img_dent-matsuri_01-1024x634.jpg\" alt=\"\u51fa\u96f2\u795e\u697d\" width=\"1024\" height=\"634\" class=\"wp-image-1269\"\/><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-snow-monkey-blocks-media-text smb-media-text\"><div class=\"c-row c-row--margin c-row--reverse c-row--top\"><div class=\"c-row__col c-row__col--1-1 c-row__col--lg-1-2\"><h2 class=\"smb-media-text__title\">Cherry Blossom Festival<\/h2><div class=\"smb-media-text__body\">\n<p>Unnan City is also famous for beautiful cherry blossom sites. The Daito area once became a battlefield, when the Mouri and Amago clans fought for control of the Tatara iron-making industry during the Sengoku (Warring States) period.
